The Colombian Brewers Cup highlights the precision, knowledge, and sensitivity of the barista, who must interpret the coffee and reveal its sensory potential through manual brewing methods such as V60, Chemex, Kalita, or other filtration systems. Beyond technique, this competition seeks to honor origin, the work of the producer, and the diversity of profiles that make Colombian coffee unique.

What is evaluated in the Brewers Cup?
In the Colombian Brewers Cup, competitors are evaluated in several stages under criteria aligned with international competition standards:

• Selection and understanding of the coffee
  Analysis of origin, variety, processing method, and bean characteristics, as well as its sensory potential.
• Technical mastery of the brewing method
  Control of variables such as grind size, coffee-to-water ratio, temperature, extraction times, and pouring technique.
• Sensory quality in the cup
  Blind evaluation of attributes such as aroma, flavor, acidity, sweetness, body, clarity, and balance.
• Consistency and precision
  The barista’s ability to reproduce a stable, high-quality brew.
  The judges are professionals with extensive experience in specialty coffee and both national and international competitions. They evaluate the technical execution as well as the sensory interpretation of each competitor.
  This championship not only recognizes excellence in filtered-coffee preparation but also promotes specialty-coffee culture, strengthens the role of the barista, and showcases Colombian talent on the most important competitive stages worldwide.
