The roasting process plays an indispensable role in the final quality of a cup of coffee. This process of physical-chemical transformation of the green coffee bean enhances the characteristics and organoleptic properties of Colombian coffee, which differentiate it from other coffees on the market.
What is the job of a coffee roaster?
The roaster is one of the fundamental pieces in the production chain, as he/she is responsible for understanding, analyzing and projecting the producer·s work into a sensory experience. This person is responsible for making sure that all the work of the producer at the source can be reflected in the final cup, helping those who will prepare it to make it a unique experience.
In the 1st Roasters Championship, competitors will be evaluated on their performance. Assessing the quality of green coffee (coffee classification), developing a roasting profile that best enhances the desired characteristics of that coffee, and thus maximizing the final cup quality.
